The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director(s) of Admission and Financial Aid, the Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Graduate School of Journalism Office of Admission and Financial Aid Office.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, eager to collaborate with colleagues and support the broader goals of our administrative team.

Responsibilities



  • Provides support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.
  • Staffs front reception area, serving as first point of contact for office visitors. Maintains a welcoming and professional demeanor when interacting with all visitors, ensuring a positive experience for everyone entering the school.
  • Counsels prospective students in person, virtually, by telephone and by email. Assures consistent and reliable communications to all applicants and responds to all prospect and applicant inquiries.
  • Coordinates electronic application process that includes scanning, indexing and quality control of admissions, financial aid, scholarship and loan repayment applications and related materials and following up on missing documents related to admissions and financial aid applications.
  • Leverages CRM, as well as other internal and external systems to assist with the smooth flow of confidential admissions, financial aid, scholarship and loan repayment assistance applications and supporting documentation to and from faculty; tracks application information; coordinates decision data transfer process for all applicants; acts as liaison to applicants, staff and faculty on review committees.
  • Receives and reviews international transcript evaluations. Assists with TOEFL and IELTS review process. Assists with scholarship, financial aid, loan repayment assistant applications reviews and notification process.
  • Assists with statistical analysis of marketing, recruitment, admission and financial aid, scholarship and loan repayment assistance and other data.
  • Coordinates on- and off-campus admissions, scholarship, financial aid and loan repayment assistance events and assists with new student orientation, graduation and other school wide events.
  • Working closely with the Associate Director of Admissions and Marketing to ensure the Admission website is accurate and current, including all essential information for prospective and current students as well as alum's.
  • In collaboration with other members of the Admissions and Financial Aid team, provide event communications support, including, but not limited to, email invites, print program design, and social media postings.
  • Supports the development and execution of social media content, as well as contributes to the creation of engaging content for various social media platforms.
  • Monitors social media channels and assists in responding to inquiries.
  • Assists with supervision of student, casual and other temporary employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications




  • Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required.



  • Experience: Minimum three years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Other Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; well organized and detail oriented; excellent customer service skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Slate; enjoy working independently and as a member of a team.



  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.




Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with student database systems preferred.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred interest in and experience with statistical work.
