Responsible for providing patients and staff with a clean, safe environment by engaging in all tasks related to surgical suite and PACU cleaning and room turnover.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Obtain BLS Certification within 30 days of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High school graduate or GED CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Responsible for room turnover by performing the following duties per established AORN Recommended Practices: trash and linen removal, wiping down of all furniture, kick buckets, tables, etc., and floor cleaning. 2. Maintains cleanliness of all equipment including Anesthesia equipment per established AORN Recommended Practices. 3. Cleans Pyxis supply cabinets per established AORN Recommended Practices and cleaning schedules. 4. Transports case carts to and from Central Sterile Department. 5. Assists in transporting and transferring patients as necessary. 6. Restocks housekeeping supplies as necessary which may include toilet paper, paper towels, etc. 7. Performs all duties in a manner which demonstrates the knowledge of environmental, infection and hazardous material control practices, to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors. 8. Participates in the education of SSA orientees in collaboration with preceptor, manager, CNS and Clinical Staff Educator. 9. Assisting with Room turnover and end of day terminal disinfection of the Operating Room Suites and Sterile Processing Department. 10. Will be a familiar with the rules of the sterile field. 11. Assist staff in gowning and gloving for procedures. 12. Willingly accepts assignments within scope of practice, skill set and level of competence. Some functions may require the use of protective equipment such as face-shields, gloves, safety shields, chemical hoods, and fluid resistant coats and biological safety cabinets. 2.
