Job Description

The Resilient Infrastructure and Supply Chain (RISC) Unit of Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Laboratory is looking to hire a Graduate Research Assistant for Spring 2025. The individual in this role will support the RISC's activities in advancing electrochemical energy conversion and storage. A strong interdisciplinary capability to bridge material synthesis, characterization and engineering, within applications such as energy systems, as well as prowess in theoretical and applied, experimental research are preferred.


Required Minimum Qualifications

Graduate Research Assistant



  • Pursuing a Master's degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Mechanical engineering, Chemical engineering, Chemistry or related field
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Commit to 15-20 hours of work per week


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to characterize materials properties using a variety analytical techniques, such as TEM, SEM, XPS, XRD, Raman, etc.
  • Experience with fabricating, testing, and analysis of electrochemical cells
  • Experience with nanoparticle synthesis with controlled properties
