Description & Requirements

The Forvis Mazars Home Care & Hospice team provides operational, billing & regulatory services that go beyond the accounting function. Alongside the rest of our team, you will bring credibility to our client's financial picture, communicate information objectively and clearly and provide insight to help clients improve their organizations. How you will contribute:

  • Planning, performing and reviewing outsourced accounting service projects for home care and hospice organizations
  • Advising, educating and communicating with clients about the strategies to improve back office and accounting operations for accurate and timely financial and key performance indicator reporting
  • Understanding client service relationships and how to utilize firm resources to provide unmatched client experiences to existing clients
  • Using technology tools proficiently in regular assignments and demonstrating a commitment to improving work processes through the use of technology
  • Demonstrating the ability to recognize problems and propose sensible solutions, with an appropriate balance between client needs and the firm's risk
  • Consistently identifying engagement and operating opportunities for improvement and providing timely solutions and consultation
  • Managing multiple concurrent engagements without disruption and within scheduled deadlines
  • Managing, developing, and coaching professional staff
  • Providing staff with timely performance feedback
  • Managing multiple client relationships, billings, and resource needs
  • Building personal referral sources and clientele while actively participating in team marketing opportunities
  • Participating in speaking and article-writing opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 7 years of relevant healthcare, home care, or hospice experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting for multi-location home care and hospice organizations
  • Working knowledge of key business processes in home care and hospice, such as Medicare and other payer billing, Medicare cost reports, survey and enrollment processes, the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) and Hospice Item Set (HIS), Care Compare, care management practices, etc.
  • Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase or other home care and hospice electronic medical records (EMR) software
  • Familiarity with Sage Intact or other financial and general ledger software
  • CPA or CPA-eligible
