Minimal Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Management.
* At least 4 years' experience in accounting/finance or related experience is required.


Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

* Experience with compliance regulations ( GASB, FASB).
* Experience designing/implementing internal controls, policies and procedures.
* Prior work experience with higher ed, governmental, foundations and public institutions desirable.
* Certified Public Accountant preferred


Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based on department needs.


Compensation
The hiring range is $67,988-$72,067. A competitive benefit package is included.

Class Summary
Incumbents perform professional accounting and finance duties to ensure data accuracy, effective accounting controls, and compliance with District policies and State statutes.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Manages assigned accounting or finance functions, to include those related to financial compliance, financial reporting, financial analysis, audits, and related activities.
  • Remains current on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Government Accounting Standards Board guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Research upcoming GASB/FASB pronouncements and assist in implementation of changes
  • Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and/or maintains financial statements, reports, forms and records for internal and external audiences; work may involve operating and updating online databases and software systems, researching and analyzing information, making recommendations based on findings and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Researches the source and cause of discrepancies in, and maintains the integrity of, financial systems; work may involve identifying areas of improvement, updating processes, researching and analyzing information, making and implementing recommendations, contacting appropriate personnel, departments, and/or agencies to address any issues;
  • Reconciles ledgers or complex accounts, prepares journal entries;
  • Coordinates with internal and/or external personnel, departments, and agencies, to facilitate departmental operations, to include making recommendations, resolving issues, planning and coordinating activities; and ensuring information accuracy and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for providing key support of finance-related matters, preparation of ad-hoc reports and communication with stakeholders.
  • Consult and provide guidance and information on finance process development or redesign initiatives.
  • Manage and negotiate the timelines of the financial projects focusing on the development, implementation, administration and operation of new business processes and strategies.
