Job Purpose

The Business Unit Representative, Quality Management System is responsible for the development and execution of all activities within their respective Business Unit related to the Quality Management System (QMS). Provides strategic and tactical guidance in development of HACI's Quality Management System (QMS) including identification/resolution of business practice concerns, assuring compliance to AS9100, assuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, conducting internal audits, driving continuous improvements, and fostering a culture of quality excellence.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Develops the Business Unit Quality Management System (QMS) by integrating requirements for improvements from internal sources such as AS9100 compliance audits, risk assessments, and regular PDCA, as well as external sources such as FAA government audits and external AS9100 compliance audits.
  2. Oversees Business Unit QMS to ensure compliance to Honda quality standards and government regulations.
  3. Build consensus within business unit to determine how to change business operations to drive quality initiatives and best practices. Advise, direct, and promote PDCA of Business Unit business plan and significant Business Unit characteristic change points to assure alignment of customer requirements to department strategies.
  4. Collaborates with cross functional teams to establish and monitor quality objectives, lead root cause analysis investigations, and contribute to the overall quality strategy of the organization.
  5. Champion a culture of quality excellence throughout the Business Unit.
  6. Provides technical leadership to department staff by developing, supporting and coaching members on the QMS.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:



  1. BA/BS degree with a minimum of 12 years' experience in a technical field; PhD or MA/MS degree with a minimum of 8 years' experience in a technical field.
  2. AS9100/ISO9000 quality system certification experience desirable.
  3. Lean, Six Sigma or Black Belt certification preferred.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  1. Knowledge in the administration of quality systems for both internal and external customers.
  2. Experience with risk management tools, such as FMEA and risk cubes.
  3. Good organization and time management skills.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to present findings to team members, management and support personnel.
