The MaineHealth Medical Groupis seeking a full-timetransplant nephrologistto jointheirwell-established,collegial group in Portland as the Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program.

With 250-300 patients on the waitlist and 40-50 kidney transplants performed every year,the Maine Medical Center Kidney Transplant Program offers excellent patient outcomes for patients in New England. We arealso recognized forstrongliving kidney donation and quality assurance programs.The multidisciplinary teams including pretransplant,post-transplant,and living donation provide ambulatory services at a dedicated clinic a short distance from the main hospital campus.One of the highlights of the program is the positive, collaborative, and collegial culture between members of the multidisciplinary team.

This position offers:

  • Transplant nephrology practice caring for pre and post kidney transplant recipients and living donors in inpatient and ambulatory settings. A small component of general nephrology practice may be included.
  • An opportunity to join an experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary transplant care team which provides highly personalized care to end stage renal patients in Maine and New Hampshire.
  • An opportunity to help grow the program clinically and academically in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Call is shared equally between our faculty of 12 full time nephrologists.
  • Team-based care model with collaborative approach to care.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certification/Board Eligible.
  • Transplant nephrology fellowship completed.
  • Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank
  • Leadership experience for at least 2 years
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to academics and program development
