Here's what you'd do: Use a microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering, and perform post-re-flow inspection and touch-up. Identify and touch up poor wetted solder joints, solder voids / insufficient solder, solder shorts/ bridges, misaligned parts/leads, tombstoned and or billboarded components, and any other solder defects that may occur during the SMT operation. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years experience in soldering. Minimum of 5 years experience with surface mount components. Minimum of 6 years experience in IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD. Minimum of 6 years experience in using rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal (ERSA or other OEM). Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Experience running, soldering, and tacking down jumper wires on re-design boards. Familiar with using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to aid in identifying solder defects and understand false calls vs. actual calls or issues. Able to read instructions and identify standard SMT components. IPC-610 Certification. IPC J-STD-001 Certification. Additional Information: Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen. Able to work in a fast-paced environment where some overtime is needed. Able to sit for long periods and focus on tedious tasks.
