Position description

The Division of Undergraduate Education anticipates hiring teaching assistants in the STEM Tutoring Hub (mathcenter.ucmerced.edu) for Spring 2025.

The Teaching Assistant (TA) will be responsible for designing and implementing services that integrates discipline-focused pedagogies and curricula with these and other educational practices that promote student success in lower-division stem courses. Responsibilities include creation, implementation and assessment of academic support activities enhancing undergraduate student understanding and application of stem concepts, supervision and pedagogical training of undergraduate instructional assistants, oversight of day-to-day lab activities and other duties in support of the center.

The STEM Tutoring Hub Teaching Assistant will report to the Director, attending regular meetings and providing updates to the campus administration as needed.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree is required. Must be a registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence. Maintenance of a qualifying grade-point average is also required. Must meet all requirements outlined in the Graduate Policies and Procedures Handbook.
