Overview
The Human Resources (HR) Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the HR department and ensuring that the HR functions are efficient and effective to support the organization. This position performs a variety of HR related tasks at a professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following HR core process areas; HR Compliance, HRIS Reports, onboarding support, training, Employee Relations/ HR Business Partner support, and other general HR responsibilities This position is onsite our Westlakes facility in Des Moines, IA Why UnityPoint Health?
Visit us at UnityPoint.org/careers to hear more from our team members about why UnityPoint Health is a great place to work. https://dayinthelife.unitypoint.org/ Responsibilities Data/Administrative Support * Assists team members and leaders with questions and triage to appropriate HRBP, ERP or COE. * In support of the HR department and other service lines, understands and navigates the HRIS system, and in collaboration with other COE's, executes Lawson transactions and position creation with minimal errors. * Monitor and audit affiliate Lawson data, and make appropriate changes to ensure correct data is maintained (vacant manager, work schedules, FTE, work assignments, etc..) * Develops knowledge of general HR practices, technology, and metrics using Power BI and other available tools within UPH to support ERP/HRBP's interactions/relationships with Leaders * Runs weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and as requested reports from Lawson, PowerBI, Sharepoint and Compensation reporting. * Provides oversight, recordkeeping, and administration of processes and documents related to compensation related programs (retention agreements, discretionary bonus/retention documents, and other special reports). Compliance/Recordkeeping * In collaboration with system and affiliate teams, assists with Policy administration, creation, editing, and appropriate communication. * In collaboration with ERP/HRBP, assists leaders and team members with relevant interpretation of employment regulations and organizational policies. * Responsible for, and acts as subject matter expert for relevant systems that monitor/track licensure, certifications, and other regulatory or local requirements (Evercheck, VaxTrack) * In collaboration with other COE's, responsible for Labor Law posting process and requirements at all locations within affiliate * Provides support for various Regulatory Agency/Accrediting Agency compliance requirements. Human Resources Support * Participate in affiliate/system meetings/committees as needed * Assists in providing affiliate specific content and may be responsible for facilitation or support of New Employee Orientation * Provides departmental support which includes primary point of contact for front desk coverage, miscellaneous project support, and assistance with employee file administration, and I9 audit/reconciliation. * Responsible for all phases of the unemployment process and ensures appropriate collaboration/engagement with the ERP/HRBP to achieve best possible outcome. * In collaboration with other departments, is responsible for proper data collection in support of various Regulatory Audit/Surveys. Relationship Management * Serve as liaison and steward for UPH when working with local community student/adult groups. * Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other's views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, puts success of team above own interest. * Respectful of all individuals and maintains confidentiality. * Provides outstanding customer service experience to employees, HRBP's, ERP's, and other stakeholders within and outside of the HR function. Qualifications Education: * Associates degree OR Bachelor's degree in HR management, business, or a related field Experience: * Minimum of 2 years experience in an HR role/department, with a strong focus on HR processes, procedures, and overall customer service and service delivery. License(s)/Certification(s): * Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Must read, write speak English fluently. * Exceptional customer service skills required. * Basic math and keyboarding knowledge. * Experience working with a variety of computer applications as a primary function, including experience with MS Office software products. Other: * Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
