Grants and Contracts Specialist-Pre-Award The Organ Pathobiology Therapeutics Institute (OPTIn) is searching for a Grants and Contracts Specialist III (Pre Award). Incumbent develops and directs all pre-award grant functions within the OPTIn, as well as serving as the contracts administrator. This position requires the appropriate application of a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the field of pre-award and contract administration. Job duties include: 1) the coordination, preparation and submission of grant proposals through university systems and processes in PERIS and ERA commons working with PIs and project managers, including tracking due dates and preparing checklists for stakeholders; 2) conducting complex cost analyses of proposals and analyzing price proposals; 3) ensuring the complete and accurate collection and submission of all pre-award phase materials; 4) establishing sub awards for collaborators within the university and at other institutions as well as acquiring appropriate sub awards coming into OPTIn from collaborators; 5) drafting and negotiating contractual arrangements including research contracts, consulting agreements, etc. in university systems, ensuring compliance with University policies; 6) drafting, submitting, and tracking MTAs, research, confidentiality, and other agreements in MYRA; 7) tracking and updating other support documents for faculty and key personnel; 8) monitoring grants, budgets, and contractual arrangements to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgets, sponsor terms, federal regulations, policies, and procedures; providing policy and procedure interpretation; 9) coordinating the preparation and submission of RPPRs and progress reports through university systems including tracking due dates and preparing checklists for stakeholders, as well as submitting reports in PERIS and eRA commons working with PIs and project managers; 10) tracking multiple grants and contracts to advise University employees on long-term financial viability and educating employees on grant and contract procedures; 11) processing amendments, modifications, extensions, and terminations of contracts and grants. The Director reserves the right to assign other duties related to Pre Award and Contract administration. Job Summary Prepares and submits moderately complex grant, contract, and budget proposals. Drafts and negotiates contractual arrangements, procurement proposals, subcontracts, and budgets. Conducts complex cost analyses and oversees invoice processing; analyzes financial documentation and reviews routine reports. Monitors grants, budgets, and contractual arrangements and prepares moderately complex pre-award applications and reports. Provides policy and procedural interpretation and resolves complex issues.
