PURPOSE

Responsible for managing budgets for ongoing construction projects. Ensures accuracy in all job functions, such as working with field management on validation of progress data, comparing actual and estimated labor and material upon project completion, and budgeting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Review actual vs estimated labor and material on completion of each project.
  • Control expenditures to conform to company budgetary requirements.
  • Budget set up for new and ongoing projects.
  • Validate progress data in coordination with field management.
  • Perform construction take-offs, per the plans and ID drawings, and work closely with others to complete project estimate.
  • Investigate budgetary discrepancies and follow through to resolution.
  • Provide field management with essential job data (i.e., log registers, draw schedules, budgets, etc.).
  • Compare contract value between the contact and the estimate to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and review monthly WIP report, as well as other financial month end reports and review with operation managers.
  • Review newly awarded job budgets with field management to ensure accuracy.
  • Track returns and EWAs/change orders to ensure timely credit/payment.
  • Be available to walk job sits to perform related audits
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
  • Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
  • Open and responsive to change.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

At least 6 months of related experience

Or equivalent education and experience

COMPETENCIES




  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, blueprints, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Ability to write reports, memos, and correspondence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Applies for mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals/ calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Tech-savvy.
  • Knowledge of industry and of common construction practices.
  • Requires use of tact to avoid conflict in carrying out assignments, as well as exercising continuous judgment.
