EMT ACADEMY - FULL TIME EMT STUDENT

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN!!

APPLY TODAY - NEXT CLASS STARTS FEBRUARY 3, 2025!

River Medical is offering a unique opportunity for individuals interested in a rewarding career in pre-hospital medicine.

91% of our AMR students that successfully completed the course are still currently happily employed, so far 20% of them have taken the opportunity to pursue their Paramedic certification.

What is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)?

The primary focus of the EMT is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation, and functions as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight. An EMT performs interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance and is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.

About the Program:

The eligible candidate will be hired as a full-time employee and compensated a training wage while in attendance at EMT Academy, sponsored by AMR. The academy is a rigorous four-to-six-week program which qualifies the employee to take the National Registry of EMT exam. Upon successful completion of the National Registry EMT exam, the employee can then apply for an Arizona State EMCT-EMT Basic Certification.

There is no cost for the class and all books, tuition, fees, and uniforms will be paid by AMR. Upon successful completion of the class, all tests and state certification, the employee will be transferred to an EMT position.

Candidate prerequisite requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a HS diploma or GED
  • Have a valid Driver License
  • Successfully complete the pre-employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing and a physical agility test
  • Meet admissions requirements to EMS Program (if/when classes are held at MCC)

What happens after passing the course?

After successful completion of the course, the employee will be eligible to take a written and skills test through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Once certified by the NREMT, the employee will then submit the required documentation to the state to obtain their Arizona EMCT-EMT Basic certification.

Upon receipt of the State of Arizona EMCT-EMT Basic certification, the employee will receive their full-time position assignment within the AMR / River Medical Ambulance business unit. They will also qualify for benefits including:

  • Excellent benefit package including medical, dental, life, vision, disability and 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) hours
  • Opportunities for professional growth
