Job Description

We are currently hiring a Maintenance Technician Planner in Breinigsville, PA.

The position requires a high level of mechanical knowledge, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below. This position will be responsible for kitting the materials necessary for maintenance repairs and setting up and tracking PMs. Candidates must be a self-starter willing to accept "operational responsibility" and willing to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. The position may require working various shifts throughout the year.

What You'll Brew:



  • Kit and stage materials and special tools as required for maintenance work orders.
  • Must be able to work in a team oriented and "Safety First" environment. Safely, efficiently and effectively work to attain department and brewery goals and objectives. Help ensure "No bad beer leaves the brewery"
  • Must observe and practice all Department/Brewery Procedures. Including, wearing proper PPE, respirators and/or all safety and sanitation equipment as required. Must also enforce and follow all GMP guidelines
  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work. Understand the full extent of the work order to prepare/order the required materials.
  • Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work.
  • Prioritize maintenance repairs within the department.
  • Work directly with Maintenance Supervisors and Packaging/Brewing Supervisors to schedule maintenance repairs with minimal impact to production (ie, scheduled downtime, during changeovers).
  • Identify and reserve the stock materials required for work order completion. Identify and order any non-stock materials required for pre-planned work.
  • Utilize AMMS to support the maintenance function, including review and prioritization of work requests, and conversion of work requests into planned work orders
  • Review completed work to identify best practices, continuous improvement opportunities, and ensure work has been completed properly.
  • Assist with the tracking of maintenance repair costs (time, materials, manpower)
  • Promotes and incorporates current safety rules and regulations into the planning process
  • Insure all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) are being adhered to during all Maintenance work, including work by Contractors on site.
  • Reviews and screens each work order to see that is has been properly filled out:

    • Work scope clearly described
    • Check if the priority and requested completion date are realistic and provide practical lead time
    • Charge numbers and other coding are complete and accurate
    • Authorization is proper
    • Discusses the details with the originating department as appropriate

  • Examines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work. Consults with requester or maintenance supervisor when necessary.
  • Planner should have complete knowledge of each department's PM work load in order to better schedule work orders in that area.
  • Recommends equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.
  • Promotes the conservation of energy and cost savings initiatives.
  • Maintains close contact with the other planners to ensure coordination of complex multi-skill field and shop jobs.
  • Maintains an open package of schedulable work orders which require equipment to be shut down so that some or all of them can be performed in the event of an unscheduled shutdown of that equipment. These unscheduled shutdown lists are prepared, reviewed and updated weekly - the Utilities maintenance planning and scheduling meeting.
  • Work sets should be maintained for a 'week out', and assignments made to ALL Utilities Techs (Operations and Maintenance co-workers)
  • Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience, to simplify the planning process.
  • Assists maintenance and production management in periodically analyzing costs and, where necessary, recommends corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs


Level: 9

Hourly : In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe pay rate for this role if hired is $36.67 per hr.

What Ingredients You'll Bring:



  • Minimum of 4 experience in industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related field.
  • Strong computer skills. Competent in using Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment is desired.
  • Experience and knowledge of personal/process control computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and Networking devices a plus. Allen Bradley and Modicon experience a plus.
  • 480v 3 phase knowledge is useful.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) a plus.
  • Knowledge and practice of NFPA 70E is desired. If not able to be certified by BBC - then working knowledge of the program is required in order insure coworkers and contractors comply with the rules.
  • Experience and or knowledge of VFD's, control systems (PLC's/HMI's), electrical protective devices.
  • Experience with participative leadership and time management.
  • Statistical process control and problem solving skills required.
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
