EMS - CCT RN - Las Vegas, NV

POSITION SUMMARY:

The EMS - Registered Nurse performs basic and advanced life support and critical care medicine. The EMS-RN provides direct patient care to the critically sick and/or injured during inter-facility transports under treatment protocols as directed by the Critical Care Medical Director. In addition, the EMS-RN is responsible for the pre-hospital care and transportation of sick or injured patients. Must be able to function at the Advanced Life Support Level and perform all invasive procedures and skills consistent with Nevada Revised Statue 450B, Nevada State Board of Nursing, State Health Regulations, and Southern Nevada Health District Regulations. Must comply with all requirements for training and re-certification, following Southern Nevada Health District Regulations and Nevada State Board of Nursing established by the Medical Advisory Board, which also comply with company policy.

The selected candidates must attend a two-week orientation, a one-week EMS-RN bridge class, and a three-week CCT Academy and internship-the Orientation Will Start on January 6th, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Nurses assess and use expertise in each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care situations.
  • Provide care requirements aligned within the Registered Nurse scope of practice as defined by the Board of Registered Nursing and per CCT standardized procedure.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient and supports physicians' orders.
  • Act as team leader and take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients and maintains regular equipment checks and stock.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow crew.
  • Nurses are accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training required for the position.
  • Actively participate in the CQI process.
  • Attend at least three (3) mandatory quarterly Critical Care meetings per year.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Current Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU RN or 5 years ED/CCT/Cardiac/Trauma RN experience (Non-negotiable)
  • Current ACLS, PALS, BLS-C (or equivalent) provider status
  • PHTLS and NRP Provider Certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • ICS courses, refer to FEMA - IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-700A (NIMS)
  • Critical care inter-facility transfer experience; CEN, CCRN, TNCC or ENC Certification; BTLS/PHTL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nevada State EMS-RN License Preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Nursing Experience, preferably in the ICU or Emergency Department
  • EMS Experience Preferred
