About The Role

Are you ready to take your accounting expertise to the next level? As our Senior Accounting Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping the financial future of our company. Working directly with the President, you'll contribute to strategic decision-making and provide critical financial analysis across all facets of the business.

In this dynamic position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our ERP system, leveraging your deep understanding of both the system and our processes to drive continuous improvements and efficiencies throughout the plant. You'll manage the cost accounting functions, oversee payroll processing, and manage the books while leading a talented team of four professionals. Your leadership will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a strong financial foundation for the business.

Scope of Work:

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to accounting staff.
  • Perform financial and operational analysis as requested to support strategic direction.
  • Oversee new and existing product costing and pricing to ensure profitable margins are achieved.
  • Work with the management team members to ensure efficiencies are identified and implemented.
  • Complete special projects as assigned in the areas of insurance, payroll, benefits, costing, taxes, sales, and general operations.
  • Maintain employee data and submit payroll bi-weekly through Paychex.
  • Prepare and book general ledger journal entries as needed.
  • Complete month-end close and account reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare financial statements and perform variance analysis.
  • Aid in the development of company metric goals and regularly report on results.
  • Administer all aspects of fixed assets.
  • Determine qualified Research and Development tax credit projects and gather related support.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end tax work papers.
  • Create or modify Crystal Reports as needed.
  • Update the overhead allocation calculation on an annual basis.
  • Serve as a key ERP system resource within the organization.



Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or able to demonstrate skills required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad accounting experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • ERP system, Crystal Reports, and payroll software experience
  • Exercise independent judgment and perform advanced accounting tasks
  • Work professionally with confidential data
  • Must be highly detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve common goals
  • Must promote and maintain good business relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers



Preferred Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 2 years
  • ERP systems: 2 years
  • Cost accounting: 1 year
  • Payroll: 1 year
