Responsibilities/ Assignments that you may be involved

The function of this position is to support the Manager, Platform Cyber, C4ISR & Program Protection within the Global Digital Systems and Software Engineering Directorate. Specific responsibilities will include management and leadership for the team responsible for command, control, communications and computing architecture, technology, evaluation, testing and compliance across the US market in support of the delivery and deployment of C4 products and services to Ground Combat Platforms. This role serves as the hiring manager and personnel leader for the C4ISR/BMS/Program Protection segment of the department; this people leader will run point for a number of emerging projects and act as a key mentor for this area's staff.
  • Exercise authority and responsibility for C4ISR and BMS product and capability integration; coordinate the team to effectively integrate cross-functional technical scope within schedule and cost constraints. Help project team to ensure a balanced, integrated, and compliant C4ISR and BMS design across the vehicle system.
  • Usher in new Program Protection approaches and work closely with supply chain, engineering, and USG representatives to prepare and deliver program protection deliverables; oversees and ensures supply chain risk management is executed for US Programs.
  • Ensure the department is staffed with motivated, technically savvy personnel who fit with and maintain the culture - foster environment where the team embraces hard problems and is motivated when they find and incorporate solutions
  • Manage the development of subsystem-level hardware and software functional design and interfaces
  • Integrate C4ISR and Program Protection best practices into GDLS IPS, coordinate with other functional and program organizations
  • Develop and document verification plans and procedures, and oversee others doing the same
  • Participate in and lead design and integration troubleshooting/Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and problem report/test incident resolution for production, development, test, or modification projects
  • Ensure development of checkpoint and design milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) and review to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with contract requirements
  • Ensure integration/verification of military Radio, RF, GPS and/or other electronics in the laboratory and on combat vehicles, to include USG test sites
  • Evaluate new BMS, C4, and Autonomous system technologies for potential application and integration into GDLS products
  • Assign and review reports in support of USG CDRL delivery milestones
  • Manage proposal development and project technical planning, and support bids for new projects
  • Guide/mentor junior department engineers, and identify key training opportunities and industry appropriate symposiums
  • Perform other duties of similar nature as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / What you must have
Position Requirements (candidates will be considered on the aggregate of the position requirements, it is not required that candidates possess experience in all categories):
  • Advanced Degree in Management and Bachelor of Science in Engineering, related science or equivalent (Relevant technical certificates and credentials will be considered)
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in engineering role
  • Experience in a leadership role a plus
  • Experience managing and leading direct reports and working to mentor junior engineers
  • Experience leading engineering and/or military projects
  • Experience leading teams in technical development projects
  • Experience in military vehicle development and integration
  • Experience with program protection activities and an understanding of supply chain processes
  • Experience in interpreting higher level customer requirements and flowing them down to technology areas
  • Familiarity with various electrical line replaceable units and the development and troubleshooting of electronic hardware
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, automotive and military related
  • Familiarity with military or commercial radios, GPS, EW and/or other communication equipment
  • Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) proficient

Additional Information
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • Must be willing to work in an office, lab, proto-type and test site environments.
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime when required.
  • Limited travel may be required, up to 15% (5% international travel may be required)
