Job Overview: The Tax Specialist is responsible for preparation of complex federal and state tax matters including the tax returns, financial statement reporting, and related tax controversy.

Responsibilities:



  • Prepare both federal and state/franchise income tax returns (Corporation and Partnership)
  • Assist with federal and state tax controversy matters, including notices, audits and appeals.
  • Research tax laws and document positions to support tax filings and planning matters and stay current on tax law changes.
  • Prepare state tax apportionment computations.
  • Assist with the annual R&E tax credit review, process and documentation
  • Assist with tax estimate calculations and make payments with taxing authorities
  • Participate in process improvements, tax technical research and other special projects


Requirements:



  • Minimum of 3years of experience in tax compliance required;Large public company, public accounting or accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field
  • Experience with communicating with tax authorities preferred
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters tax compliance software preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with tax research


Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the for California, Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
