Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time related clinical research experience or research experience working with older adults. Fluent in Malayalam. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with RedCap, Qualtrics or other database software. Experience with SPSS, SAS, or other statistical software. Experience with data analysis. Brief Description of Duties: The research coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supervising daily operations including developing protocols and implementing procedures, creating a study database and cleaning and importing data files to study databases. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring institutional and investigator compliance with institutional policies and procedures as well as federal and state law and regulations. The position will also entail supporting career development activities for junior faculty as well as participation in academic initiatives and activities within the division. Duties:
- Work with PI to develop study protocols and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including the development of new measures.
- Coordinate recruitment opportunities for studies and outreach to local communities.
- Coordinate and supervise daily operations of study protocols.
- Manage data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
- Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI, study funding agency, monitoring boards and the IRB.
- Arrange meetings of study partners, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate meetings.
- Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, oral presentations, and poster presentations, and participate in the development of manuscripts for publication.
- Partner with departmental IT resources in the development of databases; data coding manuals and data entry guidelines. Train staff and interns to collect and enter data appropriately.
- Manage the collection of data from importable and exportable formats for rapid dissemination to PIs and sponsors.
- Ensure that adverse events and protocol deviations are submitted to the IRB.
- Represent the study at internal and external academic meetings. Act as a liaison to project partners to discuss new procedures that could be implemented.
- Determine staffing needs to ensure efficient and appropriate coverage and recommend appropriate changes to staffing patterns as needed. Manage staff performance and evaluate the quality of work providing timely and corrective feedback as needed.
- Participate in identifying and assisting junior faculty in career development activities.
- Recruit, acclimate, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research interns.
- Work with Departmental Administrator to develop and monitor project budgets.
- Other research coordination tasks as needed to ensure all studies are managed timely and efficiently.
