Summary

A Senior Human Resources Analytics Specialist with Power BI expertise is responsible for leading and managing the HR analytics function within an organization. They utilize advanced data analysis techniques and Power BI to provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance HR processes, drive decision-making, and improve organizational performance. This role requires excellent communication and presentation skills with the executive leadership team at NYPA and HR Leadership team. Must be a team player work well with Digital HR team to collaborate HR Metrics, dashboard and understand the definition of NYPA/Canal HR Data. The expertise may include:

  • Power BI Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI. This includes creating custom visuals, data modeling, and implementing data-driven solutions to address complex HR challenges.
  • Data Integration: Integrating HR data from various sources, such as HRIS systems, employee surveys, performance management systems, and other relevant databases, to create a comprehensive and accurate data repository for analysis
  • Advanced Analytics: Applying advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and clustering, to uncover insights and patterns within HR data. Using these insights to support strategic workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with HR leaders, executives, and business partners to understand their analytics needs, identify key HR metrics, and deliver actionable insights that align with business objectives. Presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to influence decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Leading a team of HR analysts and data scientists, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to develop their analytical capabilities and ensure the successful execution of HR analytics projects#LI-CJ1
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Data Governance framework that meets data objectives
  • Design and configure solutions in the IT systems used by the organization
  • Implement policies and standards for management of data
  • Identify and establish data quality rules and definitions. Establish data quality process, governance, and issue tracking process tools. Develop data quality metrics that identify gaps and ensure compliance with standards working with business owners.
  • Work with all areas of the business to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Facilitate the development of queries, reports and insights across the company Work with business and IT partners to remediate identified gaps using both manual and automated solutions; defines and implements tools in collaboration with IT.
  • Facilitate the development of reports and insights across the company
  • Act as primary system administrator and control point for system access and maintenance. Maintain and facilitate creation of user accounts. goals in accordance with NYPA policies and practices.
  • Issue resolution of the many systems
  • Support their technology needs and effective use of the system working closely with stakeholders
  • Support technology implementation, roll out, development of communications to companywide users
  • Proactively manage communications and training on changes to systems and processes
  • Drive business user adoption of business intelligence and self-service reporting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Highly collaborative individual, who has proven ability to work with all levels to achieve results
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently in a fast paced environment while delivering solid action-oriented results quickly
  • Strong understanding of use of IT systems and their functional applications
  • Strong understanding and experience in configuring and administration of systems
  • Experience in designing, configuring and implementing Information Systems and procedures
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of IT and Data Architecture concepts, methods, and strategies
  • Strong understanding of use of data (e.g. for analytics, business intelligence) as well as data management (e.g. data warehousing, BI delivery) and data governance (standards, quality, metadata), industry trends, and best practices
  • Familiarity with data modeling, data dictionary, data analytics and data profiling
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify and effectively raise business risks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree inBusiness Management, Human Resources, Information Management, Statistics, Engineering, or similar
  • 4 years of experience moderately complex system design and implementation work efforts
  • Experience in a data organization, clearly exposed and performing tasks within different data governance aspects (quality, standards, reference data, data management) preferred
  • Experience including building queries, and common/standard use of data analysis tools
  • Experience in the Utilities industry preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Limited travel (up to 10%) required primarily to our generating facilities
  • Overnight travel to the various NYPA locations within New York State

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $95,440-$140,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
