Job Summary:

Specialty Granules LLC is looking for a dynamic, ambitious, hands-on leader for the role of Human Resources Business Partner at its Pembine, WI Plant. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, the HRBP will lead and advance the Plant's human resources function for a diverse client group of salaried and hourly union employees. The incumbent will drive the organization development process, serve as an employee advocate, manage employee and labor relations and communications, and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and corporate requirements within the function.The Human Resources Business Partner will also ensure consistent application of all corporate and plant policies, collective bargaining agreements and/or plant practices.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively handle grievances, provide support during contract negotiations, and maintain positive relationships with union representatives.

  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, managing performance, and implementing employee development programs. Assist the business leader to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure current and future performance standards are met. Support managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance HR efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate closely with plant management to align HR strategies with business goals and objectives.

  • Provide expert advice and coaching where appropriate. Ensure that strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization. Identify and resolve employee issues through regular contact with all employees.

  • Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. Participate in corporate HR project teams and programs and coordinate community involvement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Communicate HR programs and policies to plant staff and address all related questions.

  • Conduct investigations of potential violations of company policies.

  • Lead a process for capturing desired changes in plant policies, practices, or contract language.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of HR management experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry HR role working in a unionized environment. 7 or more years in an HR management role is preferred.

    * Strong generalist HR background, including experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, and HR operations.

    * Proven ability to effectively manage union relations and negotiate contracts.

    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    * Strong leadership and organizational skills.
