OFFICE ASSISTANT (GENERAL) $3,075.00 - $4,230.00 per Month Final Filing Date: Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Inmate Assignment Correctional Lieutenant and the general supervision of the Mailroom Office Services Supervisor I (OSSI) the Office Assistant (General) will process incoming inmate mail, including the searching and routing of mail to the proper housing unit; distribute staff and inter-institutional and intra-institutional mail; maintain an inmate roster reflecting the movement of inmates within the prison; processes priority/certified/registered/legal mail and maintains a each respective mail log; utilizing SOMS/ERMS as needed and other computer programs, to find accurate housing for transferred inmates; ensure mail is re-routed in a timely manner; will act as a responsible representative of the Mail Room in the absence of supervisory staff. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.
