Minimum Qualifications

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
• 2 years of experience working with adults.
• 2 years of experience working in inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing (SNF), acute care, or a long term acute care hospital (LTACH).
• Basic knowledge in Occupational and Physical Therapy
• Advanced judgement skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hospital staff in a clear, concise, professional manner.
• Skill in organizing written material. Knowledge of appropriate information required for patient and supply record keeping.
• Skills and ability to work in stressful situations.
• Tact and diplomacy skills.
• Ability to provide and accept guidance and criticism.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of email, Excel, Word, and ability/ willingness to learn additional computer programs and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with neurological diagnoses

Key Responsibilities

• 80% - Assists therapist with patient treatment and patient care activities for routine patients, as directed by a therapist from predetermined therapy treatment plan.
• 5% - Maintenance and Housekeeping Duties.
• 5% - Provides primary and backup services for ordering system.
• 5% - Provides Support and Staff Training.
• 5% - Miscellaneous assignments as required.
  

Department Overview

The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Sacramento medical center campus. It is equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice typical activities of daily living. The rehabilitation hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients.
