Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain domestic hot/cold water systems and wastewater systems
- Install, repair, and maintain Dietary Department and Laboratory Department equipment, sterilizers, washers, distillers, etc.
- Maintain medical gas piping and equipment
- Perform welding, brazing, and soldering duties
- Maintain forced hot water, heating, piping, and chilled water piping systems
- Perform planned maintenance duties as assigned by Facilities Manager
- Assist the Facilities Manager in planning the daily workload, the general maintenance schedule, and the Planned Maintenance Schedule
- Assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining adequate job specific stock or supplies for proper maintenance of all buildings assigned
- Perform general demolition/construction/renovation work as required
- Work harmoniously with outside contractors in the execution of their duties as required
- Maintain assigned equipment and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
- Report defective equipment to department supervision immediately
- Complete all work assigned in a timely and professional manner
- Submit all completed work orders in a timely manner
- Review work orders with department supervision as required
- Adhere to department and Medical Center policies and procedures
- Assist other tradesmen in the execution of their duties as required by supervision
- Perform a wide variety of trade related duties, providing proper maintenance of the Medical Center
- Report code violations to department supervision immediately
- Drive Medical Center's vehicle as required
- Perform all other duties as assigned or directed
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 5 years in plumbing and related duties
- Certification/Licensure: Mass Journeyman Plumber
- Driver's license required
- Software/Hardware: CMMS, Outlook, MS Office Suite
- Moderate physical effort, including frequent lifting, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
- Frequent periods of concentration requiring attention to detail
- Frequent opportunity for diversification of tasks
