Acara Solutions is looking to hire an ITC Senior Engineer for our partner in Pittsburgh, PA who specializes in transportation manufacturing.

Pay Rate: $45.67/hr to $52.88/hr
Here is what you will do:
The ITC Sr. Engineer is responsible for the execution of the Installation supervision and T&C activities related to a railway signaling subsystem (e.g. IXL, ATC, DCS) up to its successful completion and handover to customer or warranty. Lead test activities and train new Engineers over railway signaling systems and ensure that Test & Commissioning process is executed based on approved procedures, in a proper manner and in compliance to standards, regulations, and local laws.

Key Accountabilities
Governance:
  • Deploys and ensures the application of Installation and T&C processes by the ITC team within the project.
  • Pro-actively manages internal interfaces with project engineering, installation and external technical interfaces with Partners, Third Parties and Customers for T&C activities.
Planning:
  • Support to elaborate, and approve with the PrCOM/ITC Manager, the 4-weeks Lookahead with the determination of the activities.
  • Represent our company at the Access meetings to ensure site access is planned and granted in accordance with the approved project schedule.
  • Support the ITC Manager/PrCOM to plan ITC activities and resources.
  • Elaborate and review with the team EHS Hazard Analysis to each activity planned.
Quality:
  • Ensures ITC activities are carried out correctly and on time, according to the plan, budget, and contract requirements, and that our company standards are fully followed.
  • He/she might be responsible to author or verify ITC CDRL, planning their development with the support of the Pittsburgh Support Team.
  • Write and keep updated method and statements of the installation and T&C scope.
  • Ability to proposed and supervise cut-over plans when executing brownfield projects.
People and Time Management:
  • Supervise installation contractors to ensure delivering scope on time and to quality standards required by our company.
  • Training and support of the ITC team.
  • Execute FMIs on-site per Engineering instructions.
  • Lead by example ITC personnel and activities on site, ensuring activities are properly planned and people trained to meet project milestones and comply with local regulations and EHS rules.
  • Proactive towards development of resources competency to other T&C team members Ensures EHS compliance (Zero deviation), reports, and anticipates issues.
Technical Scope:
  • Prepare and execute tests, log analysis, and test reports.
  • Ensure defects identification and correction (trouble shooting)
  • Leads the team by example, with a clean and well-planned test execution strategy.
  • Check compliance of Signaling systems in relation to system specification documents and contractual requirements.
  • Commitment to the Project main milestones, leading the execution of them on-site.
  • Support V&V team and perform test in lab as per request
Communication:
  • Provide daily reports, through periodic KPIs and Resolve technical deviations preventing progress of field activities.
  • Record NCR , making the appropriate record on the test sheets and reporting the results to system validation and the punch list roll-out.
  • Provides test reports to Safety, supporting them in analyzing deviations and bugs identified during tests, and anticipates issues related to Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) and EHS.
  • Ensures all design-related issues are correctly reported in the adequate tools, including defect description and associated test context.
  • Issues the REX (Returns on Experience - lessons learned) on ITC activities and proposes updates/improvements to the Installation and T&C way of working/process/tools and the T&C Reference Library to optimize T&C performance.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering degree (preferably electronics, Electrical, Computer science or embedded systems), or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Installation, Tests & Commissioning (T&C) activities for signaling Projects.
  • Railway and signaling system knowledge Technical experience and expertise in Test and Commissioning.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Experience in Ethernet and Fiber testing and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge on Cybersecurity system along with testing and troubleshooting experience.
  • Assist with basic security vulnerabilities, including firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of system and network security principles and technology
