Role/Purpose:
The repair of Mettler-Toledo Metal Detection components, which are crucial for enduring the safety and quality of products in an industrial environment, involves a thorough diagnostic process, skilled technicians, and the use of specialized tools. These components play a vital role in detecting metal contaminants in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and other manufacturing sectors, thereby safeguarding both consumer health and compliance with industry regulations. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs of these systems are essential to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair of Mettler-Toledo Metal Detection Components:
As part of your role, you will be responsible for the repair of Mettler-Toledo Metal Detection components. This encompasses both customer equipment that has been sent in for service and stock equipment utilized for various purposes, including rentals, trade shows, and product demonstrations. You will need to diagnose issues accurately, carry out repairs efficiently, and ensure that all equipment meets the company's quality standards before returning it to customers or utilizing it for demonstrations. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in minimizing turnaround times and maximizing customer satisfaction.
What You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize a wide range of hand tools and advanced digital electrical test equipment, ensuring precision and accuracy in all repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical distribution systems, enabling the identification and resolution of electrical issues in various applications.
  • Exhibit strong soldering and desoldering skills, allowing for the reliable assembly and repair of electronic components while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Competent in navigating and utilizing various Windows operating systems, ensuring efficient operation of software tools and documentation processes relevant to technical tasks.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong commitment to achieving high performance and excellence in all responsibilities, contributing positively to team objectives and overall company success.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise interactions with team members, customers, and stakeholders, which is essential for effective collaboration and support.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced work environments while consistently meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating resilience and adaptability under pressure.
  • Familiarity with metal detection equipment is highly desirable, providing a foundational understanding that can enhance performance in related repair and maintenance tasks.
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
**OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS.**
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • A two-year degree in Electronics
OR
  • Two-years' experience in an electronic repair environment.
  • Has current or recently expired IPC610 certification.

  • A combination of Experience and Education
