Lovelace Women's Hospital, a member facility of Lovelace Health System, is New Mexico's first and only hospital dedicated to women's health. The hospital is a 120-bed facility supported by a dedicated staff of 752 employees.

Lovelace Women's Hospital features a 53-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 24/7 emergency department, 16 labor and delivery rooms, a 41-bed Mother-Baby unit, a Maternal-Fetal Medicine program for high-risk pregnancies, and is home to a Natural Birthing Center where women who wish to have a more natural delivery can do so in a safe environment. Lovelace Women's Hospital offers a comprehensive Breast Care Center, digital mammography, cardiology and gastroenterology services. The hospital also offer surgical services. Job Overview:

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) ensures that patient care services are in compliance with nursing standards, federal and state regulations. The ACNO provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. The ACNO is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. The ACNO will implement change, establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians and analyze financial data to ensure proper allocation of resources. The ACNO acts as an extension of the CNO at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic plan for nursing including mechanisms to ensure uniform quality and adherence to standards.
  • Leads the design and implementation of assigned business plans.
  • Creates a continuous improvement environment promoting patient care.
  • Measures actual budgetary performance against standards and ensures variances are within established targets.
  • Collaborates with executive hospital management as a key member of medical and planning committees.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19 if applicant does not have a BSN - must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion.

  • Master's Degree in Nursing and/or related field, preferred.

  • Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.

  • Maintains current BLS

  • Minimum of five years' experience in progressive leadership roles within a healthcare system.
  • Direct Nursing Education experience and/or informatics experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
