The University of Virginia Departments of Otolaryngology and Urology seek to hire a Grants and Contracts Administrator or Senior Grants and Contracts Administrator to perform sponsored proposal, award, and compliance activities supporting our research mission. This position will be split equally among both departments and work closely with various stakeholders across the University and the School of Medicine to provide high quality customer service for research faculty and staff. Designation as an administrator or a senior administrator will be dependent upon education and experience. Grants and Contracts Administrators possess a comprehensive understanding of grants and contracts administration. Administrators are responsible for the processing of awards in the financial system and serve as a principal contact for internal and external subrecipients and sponsors. Senior Grants and Contracts Administrators possess a comprehensive understanding of grants and contracts administration. They advise faculty on long-term financial viability of a department or center given multiple grants and contracts from various sources with differing project end dates. They locate and identify sources of outside funding. They manage all aspects of the development of complex proposals and awards. Senior Grants and Contracts Administrators interpret guidelines, terms, and conditions, and provide advice accordingly. They submit and serve as signature authority for electronic proposals and resolve issues to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information. The preferred candidate will have strong listening and communication skills, be adept at learning new systems, and will grasp new concepts and processes easily and efficiently. The ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks while still being an active and integral part of the Grants Administration team is a key component of the role. The selected applicant will work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with high volume, requiring excellent time management and organizational skills. Responsibilities will include:

Anticipated compensation for this Grant Administrator role is expected to start between $60,000-$70,000. The Senior role is expected to start between $80,000-$90,000. All offers are commensurate with experience. This position is located in Charlottesville, VA. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
