Receive training through direct supervision or area personnel regarding machine deburring techniques. Primarily use a speed lathe to remove sharp edges and burrs on a wide variety of small, precise, and expensive parts. Attention to detail and continual focus on critical to quality (CTQ) part features is a success factor in this role. Gaining part knowledge and finishing techniques over time will allow for the ability to perform all tasks with minimal supervision. Focus on Safety, Quality, and Productivity for all assignments is a must.

  • Follow safety rules for the site as well as applicable rules for equipment and processes
  • Attention to detail required to meet quality requirements
  • Ensure quality while understanding and meeting expected daily production rates
  • Deburr and finish various types and styles of product from start to finish while sitting or standing
  • Self-inspect all parts for quality
  • Follow standard operating procedures for certain parts
  • Prepare customer orders for shipping through accurate counting and associated documentation
  • Use of small machinery, power tools, hand tools
  • Perform and execute activities planned by others
  • Follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Use of computer to enter job details
  • Effectively communicate and function in a team environment while being a self-starter
  • Flex to other areas as production schedule dictates
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Rexnord policies, 5S procedures, and in line with Regal Rexnord core values

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in machine shop; high school diploma or equivalent a plus
  • Previous deburring and finishing experience using hand tools and small machinery
  • Accurately read and comprehend material such as blueprints, work instructions, routings, OMS sheets, measuring equipment, etc.
  • Manual dexterity
  • Mechanical ability
  • Ability to process fine detail
  • Experience working with repetitive processes
  • Ability to solve problems that have standard solutions
  • Ability to write to record basic information in English
  • Knowledge of and ability to compute basic math
  • Able to enter information in computer
