The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Non-Student Research Worker to serve as research assistant on Drs. Emily Paine and Walter Bockting's interview-based pilot study focused on aging among trans and nonbinary people. This hire will work 5-10 hours a week on average.

Specifically, the incumbent will be tasked with supporting participant recruitment, scheduling interviews, conducting brief screening and full qualitative interviews, assisting with transcription quality checks and data management, and conducting qualitative analysis of interview transcripts. The incumbent will also be asked to assist with protocol and instrument development, and dissemination to scientific and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:



  • Assisting with participant recruitment;
  • Assisting with participant screening, enrollment, and interview scheduling;
  • Assisting with qualitative data collection, cleaning, and preparation;
  • Assisting with coding and analysis of qualitative research data;
  • Assisting with monitoring study database;
  • Assisting with manuscript preparation and submission, including conducting literature searches, manuscript writing and manuscript submissions;
  • Assisting with administrative tasks including IRB submission/revisions;
  • Attending all research related meetings;
  • Working closely with sites and study personnel and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


This is an internal grant position. Continued employment is based on availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications




  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.




Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge and familiarity with trans and nonbinary communities.
  • Experience qualitative research.
  • Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with software programs for qualitative data analysis (e.g., Dedoose).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • At least one year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience.
