The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The director is responsible, under the supervision of the Director of Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care and the Administrator for the Division of Cardiology, for the strategic direction of the two units including defining key priorities and monitoring the achievement of goals. The director manages the operations of the practice with a focus on patient satisfaction. They will also be responsible for all financial management, philanthropy, internal and external relations, and key messaging for the departments.

Responsibilities



  • Supervision of teams that execute the day-to-day operations of the departments, providing direction on process and role definition.
  • Monitor P&L and present financial data upon request.
  • Perform periodic budget reviews with leadership to ensure the department is achieving budgetary goals.
  • Monitor patient volumes and alert leadership of any trends or variations.
  • Establish professional development and promotion pathways to support both clinical and non-clinical team members in achieving professional goals.
  • Define and execute community outreach strategies including maintaining relationships with referring physicians and institutions and identifying new referral pathways to grow the practice.
  • Lead marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Provide oversight of physician training programs including negation of contracts, content development and execution of the programs.
  • Work in conjunction with NYP and CUMC development teams to establish and implement fundraising strategies and identify alternative sources of revenue.
  • Work closely with physician leadership on the fellowship program curriculum and identify sources of funding for the program.
  • Collaborate with the HeartSource team to develop and execute medical service agreements and identify potential partners.
  • Work closely with the hospital and the Division to identify and execute patient pathway efficiencies.
  • Responsible for both internal and external relations.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by the physician and administrative leadership.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, and experience, plus 5 years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ten years at senior manager or director level position with demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Work experience in the broad field of interventional cardiovascular medicine and/or cardiac surgery is preferable.

  • Ability to develop and manage project budgets.

  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical planning skills with the ability to address complex planning issues
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make decisions and recommendations which have impact on project outcomes
  • Must successfully complete applicable compliance and systems training requirements
