The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Sadeesh Ramakrishnan. Laboratory research is focused on understanding how hypoxia signaling regulates metabolic homeostasis during various pathophysiological states as well as in vitro and invivo models of L-cell-specific gain and loss of hypoxia signaling. This position will focus on understanding the molecular mechanism of hypoxic regulation of nutrient sensing in L-cells and its therapeutic applications, in addition to contributing to several ongoing projects related to fatty liver disease and adipose tissue remodeling. The applicant is required to possess a PhD in Biomedical Science or a related field. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Experience in molecular biology, animal handling, in vivo metabolic tests, and experience in transgenic mice are strongly preferred.
