Job Purpose

Honda Aero in Burlington, NC is looking for amember of an associate team with the responsibility of coordinating activities associated with Process Quality Engineering activities related to procedures and Quality Systems. Lead the development and improvement of standardized quality systems processes. Assure compliance to design criteria, quality standards, and production requirements for parts and equipment used in aircraft engines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate with multiple departments to create and revise procedural documentation related to general quality system processes, with focus on manufacturing processes including implementation of process failure modes and effects analysis and measurement system analysis to confirm inspection capability
  • Facilitate connection of project teams to quality system, by helping teams to understand quality systems requirements and helping teams to get project data set-up for long-term execution and monitoring
  • Perform risk assessments to help to prioritize corrective and mitigating actions related to product safety, including execution of PFMEA on existing and emerging processes
  • Independently perform internal quality system audits and audits of special processes
  • Special projects as assigned by Quality Management

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or applicable work experience



Minimum Experience



  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in manufacturing quality role, with aerospace preferred



Other Job-Specific Skills



  • Advanced understanding of risk analysis techniques, including PFMEA
  • Understanding of machining and inspection processes and proven ability to implement and sustain statistical process controls
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100 Quality Standard requirements
  • Knowledge of 14CFR Part 21 and Part 145 requirements, preferred
  • Proven ability with written communication, including technical writing and presentations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with ERP and MES products, with IFS and/or Solumina preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

  • Climate-controlled office environment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes.
  • Some travel is expected for supplier audits. (3-5 trips/year)
