Job Purpose



  • Minimize supplier quality issues using root cause analysis to determine true root cause
  • Implement temporary and permanent countermeasures with supplier to minimize impact and optimize quality
  • Work with supplier toward continuous improvement of manufacturing characteristics
  • Trigger point compliance and collaborative support of problem summaries.
  • Manage activities that affect quality/delivery/cost and help reduce impact.
  • Comply with safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop expertise to effectively manage and communicate quality related issues as needed.
  • Utilize Honda Systems to hold suppliers accountable for nonconforming parts, and ensure compliance with government regulations and part specifications.
  • Support collaborative problem solving and countermeasure activity to identify root cause and prevent problem recurrence.
  • Develop technical expertise to conduct non-conforming product evaluation
  • Review daily reports and go to the spot (inside and outside our organization) to understand and react to current quality conditions.
  • Engage in department initiatives for associate growth and strengthen Honda operations.
  • Continue to develop technical expertise.



Key Accountabilities



  • Approve part/process changes for design changes and non-design changes.
  • Approve/confirm Supplier root cause analysis, development of countermeasures and implementation
  • Perform data analysis, prioritize top impact issues and drive supplier characteristic improvement activities
  • Oversee and manage complex problem-solving analysis and investigations
  • Coordinate and lead supplier countermeasure activities to provide an effective solution
  • Manage and support communication with suppliers and other departments in regard to countermeasures
  • Negotiating and communicating quality activity with suppliers, In-house departments, and Management
  • Mentor new associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development



Qualifications, Experience and Skills



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Technical Design), 2-year tech degree with equivalent related experience or relevant experience if no degree
  • 2-8 years of experience based on education
  • Quality assurance, blueprint reading, part measurement, Catia/3D, MS office proficient, negotiation and communication skills. Experience leading supplier audits and improvement activity



Workstyle



  • Open Office Environment, walking, sorting parts, limited travel, and overtime possible (Approximately 4 hours of overtime per week)
