Job Purpose

Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team. Sustainability & Business Development is tasked with navigating the path for Honda's future Electric and Energy products, services, and businesses with a focus on Sustainability. The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by innovating, incubating, selecting, developing, applying, and operating new businesses, features, products, and services with responsibility for their profitability, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction for Honda in North America.

This position fits within the overall development and daily execution of the Sustainability Business Division focused in the Energy and EV Charging Solutions group. The position will be a key contributor to provide new revenue streams to AHM and new value to our vehicle customer through products and services such as home energy management, home battery, and solar, while being a part of other areas such as, energy services, home charging hardware (EVSE) sales, digital online sales, charging incentive of electric vehicles in support of Honda's 2030 Vision.

This Associate is responsible for supporting and driving initiatives in research and strategy development, as well as product and service evaluation to identify opportunities to improvement for existing and new products and services. This Associate will also support the development and implementation of new processes, and work closely with Operations, Sales, IT, Marketing, and other teams to ensure the seamless execution of new processes.

The Associate will develop a deep understanding the EV customer and the benefits of delivering convenient and cost saving products and services to work in the customer's lifestyle at home - and be the champion of ensuring internal and external stakeholders are considering the customer journey of a fully integrated vehicle-to-connected home experience.

Key Accountabilities

Research & Strategy



  • Trend analysis: Monitor industry trends and technologies in the Home Energy sector. Analyze competitors' products and services to identify gaps and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Strategic planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative, long-term solutions for the Home Energy Business by growing and enhancing the portfolio of products and services.
  • Research: Identify areas for research and provide input and requirements to gather feedback on home energy products. Gain deeper insights on into consumer behavor and preferences.
  • Analysis: Analyze consumer data to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for product and service improvement.



Product Launch



  • Support in the development and execution of product launch plans, including timelines, marketing ad PR activities, and sales strategies.
  • Work closely with marketing team to provide input and feedback in the development and execution of focused Energy product marketing campaigns.



Process Development & Implementation



  • Develop and implement new processes with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency to ensure seamless delivery of Home Energy products and services.
  • Train Operations team members on new processes and monitor execution.
  • Work closely with Operations and technical teams to resolve issues to ensure a consistent feedback loop within the Business Development team.



Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders in areas such as marketing, product development, sales, operations, IT, and others, to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress and outcomes.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering, & Marketing or related field
  • Or equivalent work experience establishing a technical and business understanding relative to the job purpose
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience related to at least two of the following:home energy, renewable energy industry, or connected home
  • Knowledge of energy products and services
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis and market research
  • Excellent technical, planning, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Be a flexible, and curious team member to help shape Honda's future

Working Conditions

  • 40% desk work using laptop and phone, including conference calls, communicating, reading and responding to emails, engaging with other team members on project efforts, etc.
  • 35% meetings, virtual meetings, internal and external
  • 25% preparing for and reporting to management
  • Hybrid: 40% Office/60% remote
  • Travel 10%
