Job Purpose

Honda Aero LLC in Burlington, NC is looking for a team member whoapplies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Review / create necessary financial transactions which comply with IFRS while always incorporating the appropriate accounting controls.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Lead the company vehicle program and employee purchase programs
  • Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including, but not limited to, duties associated with the monthly financial close, reconciliations, maintaining a strong internal control environment, asset management, and capital reporting
  • Process inter-company orders and/or invoices and reconcile inter-company balances
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights on financial status and performance
  • Identify, investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support budget preparation and financial planning processes
  • Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements

Key Accountabilities 2

  • Support tax accountants by exporting/compiling requested data and documentation
  • Ensures the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of month end close activities for fixed assets, AP and AR, including journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and reporting
  • Respond to inquiries from management regarding expenses, budgets, etc
  • Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to process enhancements for increased efficiency and accuracy
  • Customer and Supplier Master maintenance
  • Participate in financial audits, collaborating with external auditors and providing necessary information
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to financial analysis, process improvements, and planning

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent with experience

Minimum Experience

0-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferably with accounts payable

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • General knowledge of finance and accounting principles including generally accepted accounting principals, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Accounting systems
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
  • Sound time management skills

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes
