Job Purpose

This Senior Supply Specialist role is primarily responsible for working on Projects to support the future growth of electrification within the parts division and working with stressed suppliers for Honda service parts. This position is responsible for developing and managing project plans for projects and stressed supplier activity to minimize customer impact and to support the electrification initiatives.

The Supplier Development Specialist IV will also support the future growth of Electrification within the parts division. This will consist of supporting existing initiatives and leading/supporting future electrification initiatives within the parts division.

For stressed supplier activity, this position will be responsible for negotiations with company owners, banks, and/or Holding companies and supplier's legal representation to ensure the availability of Service parts.

The Supplier Development Specialist IV role will work directly with / coordinate activities with the suppliers and multiple departments within Honda. This role will manage objectives and activities for the following stressed supplier issues: Plant closures (natural disaster, bankruptcy, financial stress, etc.), supplier capacity management, lost/damaged tooling, and supporting the supply group with critical supplier activities. In addition, this role will also work closely with the stressed supplier teams at HDMA to ensure Service part production needs are met.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management - Leading projects related to electrification, new technology (i.e. - Fuel Cell powered models), and other related projects assigned to the team. Projects to be managed to timelines to ensure minimal customer impact and timely new model start-up activity.

Stressed Supplier Management - Working with stressed suppliers to ensure continuous supply to our customers including QAVs, new supplier setup, resourcing, tooling moves, etc. These activities are directly related to bankruptcy, financial alerts, natural disasters, capacity concerns, tooling issues

OTDR (Obsolete Tooling Disposition Requests) - Responsible for reviewing and providing disposition to OTDRs received from HDMA for service supplier tooling.

Support noncurrent tooling moves to HdM to ensure all paperwork/processes are followed to allow tooling to cross the border into Mexico

Coordinate activities with affected associates/departments and report situation/findings/resolution to necessary parties on a regular basis

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience

Five plus years of supply chain experience that ensures a solid understanding of Honda supply base, supplier production environments, supplier costing methods, and design changes/engineering standards

Understanding of Auto parts manufacturing processes (Casting, machining, stamping, molding, etc...)

Negotiation skills

Financial acumen

Prioritization and time management skills

Project management

Presentation and communication skills

Ability to plan for >=3 years

Technical skills (e.g. drawing interpretation, design changes, knowledge of supplier production processes)

Workstyle

Hybrid role with a 50% travel expectation
