Job Purpose
Honda Aero in Burlington, NC is looking for amember who will be part of a manufacturing team with the responsibility of performing moderate operations involving material handling, assembly, inspection, Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul (MRO), and test of aircraft engines.
Key Accountabilities
- Training of associates
- Maintenance of engine kitting by supporting layout of engine hardware parts and storage utilizing shadowing for parts control
- Provide supporting data to Preliminary Review (PR) disposition for nonconforming product decisions
- Document technical data and provide timely communication of results
- Perform visual/quality checks of assembly hardware to maintain 100% traceability of product
- Performs hands-on engine assembly at the highest level of skill as needed to support the team
- Performs hands-on engine repair activites at the highest level of skill as needed to support the team
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Educational Qualifications High School Diploma or GED
FAA Certified Powerplant Maintenance License Minimum Experience 5+ years in aviation manufacturing and/or maintenance facility 2+ years specific to jet engine maintenance is a bonus.
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Moderate experience in one or more of the following aero/engine functions: assembly, inspection, testing, kitting, and/or inventory control
- Ability to interpret basic drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Use of hand tools and limited precision measuring instruments
- Experience with analysis of moderate technical issues in area of expertise
- Moderate understanding of safety/ergonomics to incorporate during build process
- Moderate computer skills to utilize MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Experience with analysis/investigative tools and systems

- Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements to assure compliance
- Moderate knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations
- Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use shop hand and power tools, balancing equipment, perform engine test preparation, product acceptance testing, diagnosis, and equipment calibration
- Ability to use strong trouble-shooting skills within area of expertise
- Understanding of basic test-operating procedures, engine test results, historical trends, and analysis related information
- Ability to apply strong analytical problem-solving skills with a strong understanding of the engine manufacturing processes
- Work from basic blueprints, tool write-ups, sketches, verbal information, appropriate manuals, etc., to perform assigned work instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Ability to be flexible with job assignments and able to quickly master new tasks
- Basic understanding of safety/ergonomics to incorporate during all work processes
Working Conditions
- Travel: No travel expected
- Physical: Manufacturing environment with minimal desk work. Frequent kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting, bending, pushing and lifting. Some physical effort required (pushing 300+ pounds on wheeled cart; lifting 25-50 pounds.
- Hazards: Risks found in typical aviation shop setting. Exposure to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, chemicals, moving parts, hot parts
- Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
- Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental safety, companypolicies, rules and procedures
