Location Anna, OH Job Purpose Smart Factory Systems Engineering position responsible for leading & developing department Connected & Smart Factory program. Lead planning and execution of strategies to improve equipment efficiencies & reliability leveraging automation and digitalization. Lead Connected Factory planning and strategy execution utilizing digital technology and analytics to connect equipment data from sensors, PLCs, and other devices across Honda's Industrial Data Platform (Honda IDP) or other cloud services into leverageable forms to allow seamless sharing of information between people, machines, systems, and sensors. As the Subject Matter Expert, develop and manage Smart Factory, Connected Factory, & IoT related items including but not limited to data collection strategies, Software, ICS Networking, machine connectivity, device configuration, SCADA, predictive asset condition monitoring, video recording, machine learning analytics, and more. - Connected & Smart Factory Leadership
- Lead and manage data connectivity strategy and activity for the Assembly Department
- Lead all inclusive Connected Factory strategy development and execution

- Co-develop & maintain strategy for training Assembly team members on implemented software, tools, & components as SME/Technical Advisor
- Lead SCADA/ACM management & strategy development for the Assembly Department
- Lead development of strategy for continuous monitoring of PLC's/controls with playback and associated video
- As SME/Technical Advisor provide software & ACM system/network support plant-wide
- Co-develop & maintain strategy for training Assembly team members on implemented software, tools, & components as SME/Technical Advisor.
- IoT Project Support & Leadership
- Lead Connected Factory & networking focused IoT projects
- Support IoT related projects as networking & Connected Factory SME
- Attend and support regional & local IoT meetings as required in support of MESD IoT Leader
- Network & Network Security Specialist
- Provide Network & Network Security activity leadership for Assembly Department as Network SME
- Develop comprehensive understanding of TMP-O ICS networks and networked devices through automated and hands on inventory
- Lead, develop, & maintain best practice ICS network recommendations as Assembly Department SME/Technical Advisor
- Co-develop & maintain strategy for Network & Network Security training for Assembly Department as SME/Technical Advisor
- Provide Network & Network Security activity and troubleshooting support as SME/Technical Advisor to Assembly Department
- Assembly Software Specialist
- Develop comprehensive list and understanding of all needed Assembly software & license for connectivity and interaction with industrial control systems/devices including but not limited to: vision, PLCs, Safety PLCs, VFDs, Kepware, DeviceWise, ICS Networks, etc.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience based on education (preferred: 2+ industrial controls systems (ICS) and related networks, with a firm understanding of communications between machine devices, networks, & data platforms; 2+ years of experience with networking & network security; 2+ years of experience with machine controls including PLCs, robotics, & motion controls)
- Experience with SQL and programming languages preferred, but not required
- Experience in automated provisioning and managing resources in one of the major cloud providers preferred, but not required
- Experience with monitoring & logging tools preferred, but not required
- Proficient in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLCs and machine control devices and their communications
- Network/Network Security knowledge and experience
- Proficient understanding of production deployment: scaling, performance, monitoring, security, and networking
- Proficient in Structured Query Language, and other programming languages.
- Advanced problem solving - Ability to analyze problems to determine root cause and implement effective countermeasures
- Strong interpersonal and people management, business planning, project leadership, reliability (troubleshooting,5-Why, RC Analysis), and technical leadership skills
- Ability to seek, understand, strategize, and deploy new and advanced technologies/techniques from findings/influences outside the plant/company
- Ability to focus on multiple projects using effective planning and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, meeting presenter), with customer focus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to: Read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings; clearly and concisely document thoughts, ideas, requirements, and problems; monitor and ensure safety compliance; work effectively in a team environment
Workstyle
- Exposure to chemicals, solvents, Hyd. Oil, Confined Space.
- Possible Travel for training/benchmarking
- 2~4 times per year and up to one week per event
- some daily travel to other plants
- Overtime estimated at 5~10 hours per week
