Provides training and transfers knowledge and requires in-depth knowledge and experience in the area of expertise. Depth of content covers 100% of subject expertise. Able to coach trainees on an individual level. Is able to qualify less experienced trainers and trainees. Handles complex changes in training material without being trained. Trainer reports to the Academy Lead or Group Lead and aligns mainly with own team, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders in the business. Works on creative L&KM solutions for complex topics (e.g. technical hands-on mock-up). Roles and responsibilities Train
- Delivers L&KM solutions in accordance with enabling processes as agreed in L&KM process model. Focus is on Delivery and implementation (E).
- Integrate facilitation methodologies and didactical techniques to enable successful knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Help learners prepare for learning transfer to the job, help them identify barriers to transfer and ways to overcome them.
- Responsible to onboard and prepare lower level co-facilitators and subject matter experts by conducting e.g. train-the-trainer, dry-runs etc.
- Creates large scale solutions which requires planning and alignment with variety of target groups. Work requires extensive knowledge in specialized field.
- Plans and conducts work that requires judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques and procedures.
- Acts as a mentor for colleagues to explain problems/solutions.
- You must be able to demonstrate core front line skills such as; eLearning development, LMS (cornerstone) proficiency, Virtual / ILT facilitation, and presentation skills, in addition to transitioning into a leadership role managing large projects, review learning quotes, overseeing an onboarding program, make complex decisions, partner with senior leadership to strategize and formulate learning presentations. Experience managing learning experts, instructional designers, and project management experience is also a plus.
Develop
- Contributes to the development of learning solutions and learning experiences, collaborates with learning designers/developers and experts for the expertise area.
Facilitate
- Facilitate the delivery of learning programs and trainings, apply facilitation methodologies and didactical techniques to ensure knowledge transfer and skills development.
- Prepare training session and additional materials based on didactical learning techniques aligned to participants learning styles and preferences, include variety of learning activities and communication methods to engage participants and ensure effective knowledge transfer.
- Assess learner's needs, modify and adjust training when required and be able to meet learner's and business objectives.
- Manage learning environment and stimulate participants learning motivation, knowledge and experience sharing, encourage participation and help participants acquire personal and training objective.
- Act as a sounding board towards participants during and after the training if applicable. Support teams and groups in building and developing communities of practice to share experiences.
- Identifies and addresses resistance to learning and team dynamics that prevent achievement of learning and performance objectives.
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to evaluations by stimulating trainees to participate in evaluation of training and realization of objectives.
- Report feedback on theoretical and practical training activities, including sharing improvement suggestions with the L&KM solution manager.
- Initiate proposals for improvements to the training, process, and tooling, safeguard the L&KM quality standards and collaborate with other experts to ensure alignment across the Academy.
Learning & Knowledge Management
- Keep up with internal and external developments and ensure development, transfer and retention of all knowledge and information supporting the realization of the objectives.
- Use/develop (external) reference/ network and know-how that is state of the art in own area of technical expertise.
- Integrate knowledge management with the process of creating learning solutions and support best practice on knowledge capturing, availability and sharing. Enhance high quality knowledge assets and appropriate governance, standards and metrics.
Stakeholder management
- Build and maintain a network of stakeholders, update and consult them regularly, manage expectations of stakeholders around participants (line managers/department managers) and in own area of expertise.
Education and experience Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of experience Masters Degree
- Preferably in Education, Instructional Design, Adult learning or Phycology
Minimum qualifications - the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:
- Required technical skills - Adult learning
- Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools
- Soft skill requirements (i.e. strong English communication skills - both written and oral, ability to influence, etc.).

Other information
- This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
