Job Summary

HYBRID ONLINE & IN-PERSON CLASSES
UCSF, in partnership with Bay Area Medical Academy, is proud to launch our first Medical Assistant Cohort. Bay Area Medical Academy's 3-in-1 Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy and EKG Program provides rigorous training in core competencies associated with Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, and becoming an EKG technician, with the aim of preparing graduates to work professionally in the field. Learn how to perform routine tasks, such as vital-signs testing, patient preparation for exams and procedures, as well as administrative duties needed for successful entry into the healthcare field.

Our program prepares you to become a Medical Assistant with 3 certifications:
* National Certified Medical Assistant
* Certified EKG Technician, CET
* California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1)/National Certified Phlebotomy Tech.

This 9-month, part-time program includes:
* Convenient hybrid classes: online evening
* Classes and in-person labs on Saturdays
* 35 weeks of instruction plus externship
* 200-hours of clinical externship offering on-the-job experience
* Specialized study to pass NCCT
* Certification exams
* Ongoing job placement support.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
