Job Summary
#DS-CA This position is responsible for providing analytical, research, and statistical support to the Professional Billing Group and departments within the School of Medicine. - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience within the healthcare industry.
- 1-2 Years of Data Analytics Experience
- 1-2 Years with Database Tools such as Excel and Word
- Several years of previous experience serving in a similar capacity/role required.
- Thorough knowledge of businessintelligence functions, analytics,industrystandards and best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, and a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely convey complex information.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools.
- Ability to produce high quality reports and documentation.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop and effective solutions.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated skill with various spreadsheet and software applications including: Epic Resolute or similar patient accounting system, Microsoft Excel, Word and Access, SAP Business Objects, PageCenterX, and Tableau Enterprise.
- Finance Analytics Comprehensive knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, commercial capitated payor programs and other third-party payor program requirements, including professional fee billing procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge and skill in working with committees and facilitating group decision making and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of major healthcare trends and issues that affect physicians, hospitals and academic health centers.
- Demonstrates professionalism, tact, courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with personnel at all levels in the health system, any location, or other hospital system.
- Ability to react with flexibility and patience and maintain efficiency and accuracy under sustained and immediate pressure created by heavy workload, frequent interruptions and multiple requests.
- Knowledge of billing codes, diagnosis codes and medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 Year of EPIC experience
- 1-2 Years with Database Tools such as Tableau, PageCenter X, & Business Objects
- Knowledge of UC Davis School of Medicine methods, policies and procedures
