Job Summary
Under the direction of management, performs audits, advisory service projects, and investigations covering financial, operational, and compliance areas across UC Davis and UC Davis Health. Performs engagements in accordance with the Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Assesses organizational and operational risks; designs and executes work programs; prepares work papers; maintains communication with operating staff and management; develops recommendations; drafts reports to management; performs post-engagement work as necessary to ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
Promotes concepts of internal control to assist University personnel in the discharge of their duties. Apply By Date November 21, 2024 at 11:59pm Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- BS or BA Degree in accounting or business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-4 years of auditing experience.
- Experience planning and executing financial, compliance, and operational audits across a variety of technical subjects and/or business processes using effective risk identification and assessment, problem-solving, and technical audit skills.
- Broad knowledge of finance, accounting, business, and systems operations. Including thorough knowledge of and experience applying theories and principles related to internal auditing, accounting, compliance, law, healthcare administration, research administration, information systems, and/or information security.
- Well-developed interpersonal and oral/written communications skills with experience presenting to a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and external agencies. Experience writing, presenting, and defending informational and persuasive reports, and presenting sensitive information with diplomacy in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of internal controls with experience documenting and assessing business processes, analyzing data, providing recommendations for improvement, and conducting research of relevant policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of business ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Masters or MBA.
- 3-4 years of auditing experience in Higher Educations and/or Government.
- Experience working with TeamMate Auditing Solutions, including TeamEWP, TeamCentral, TeamTec, TeamRisk, and Team Schedule.

Department Overview Audit and Management Advisory Services (AMAS) supports the mission of UC Davis and the University of California by partnering with management to provide them with independent and objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operations. AMAS performs audits, investigations and management studies that encompass financial and operational reviews of complex and diverse areas at UCD having the broadest impact on the Campus, Medical Center and university policies, procedures and operations. Work Environment

- Ability to travel between Sacramento and Davis or other locations to perform audits or attend training sessions / meeting including occasional overnight stays.
