Under general supervision of the Faculty Director of the School Policy, Action, and Research Center (SPARC) in the School of Education, provide data analysis and research support. Clean and recode data, conduct descriptive analysis and create tables, documents and spreadsheets. Manage, plan and coordinate logistics of research projects overseen by SPARC. Conduct searches of relevant research literature, prepare written synthesis and summaries of the literature and edit the Center's dissemination products such as policy briefs, factsheets, working papers, and manuscripts. Problem-solve and execute other programmatic and administrative functions as needed.
THIS CONTRACT APPOINTMENT ENDS ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION OR CONVERSION TO CAREER BASED ON FUNDING.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience providing programmatic and administrative support in a professional office environment.
- Experience producing, editing and proofreading written materials.
- Data analytic skills and proficiency in using basic statistical software including R or Stata.
- Organizational skills to evaluate and prioritize workload, coordinate large volumes of work with attention to detail, monitor progress, establish and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to professionally and effectively collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing budgets and grants.
- Working knowledge of statistics.
- Familiarity with UC Davis systems, policies and processes.

Department Overview
The School of Education was established in 2002, building on an 85-year tradition at UC Davis of working to strengthen public education. The School offers preparation for the California teaching credential, master's and doctoral-level programs for educational researchers and practitioners, and professional development for educators throughout Northern California. The School has over 40 full time senate and clinical faculty and 80 staff. The School's total budget is over $30 million, and is comprised of state general funds, tuition and self-supporting revenue.
