The Transportation Institute is an interdisciplinary research, training, and technology transfer unit that draws faculty, staff, and students from various departments within the Deese College of Business and Economics, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and throughout the entire University.
Established in 1970, the Transportation Institute has been a leader in transportation-related research, education, and technology transfer. The mission of the Transportation Institute is to serve as a national, regional, and local clearinghouse for transportation education, research, and outreach; offering seminars, workshops, lectures, publications, and other information for public and private transportation practitioners, decision-makers, and the general public.
The Institute educates students and professionals from diverse populations to provide qualified transportation professionals in the workforce. The programs and activities conducted by the Institute are designed to provide ongoing initiatives in the areas of education, research, and workforce development. |
