The Operating Room Supply Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of medical supplies and equipment used in the operating room. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all necessary supplies are readily available for surgical procedures, contributing to the smooth and efficient functioning of the operating room. Collaborate with physicians and other hospital staff to ensure the availability of required supplies, optimize the procurement process, and control costs. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment in the operating room. Regularly check stock levels, identify low-stock items, and initiate requests for requisitions to replenish supplies. Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies. Assemble and deliver case carts (Disposable Supplies and Surgical Instrumentation) for use during surgical procedures. Procure and maintain inventory levels (Par and Perpetual) for disposable items used in surgical procedures. Arrange and organize supplies, instruments, and equipment in designated storage areas within the operating room. Utilize appropriate storage techniques to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and ease of access. Implement proper labeling and tracking systems to facilitate easy identification and retrieval of items. Requisition capital equipment and coordinate special order requests (equipment rental, supplies, etc.). Complete bill-only purchase orders for vendor-provided items that do not require receipt. Performs varied filing and clerical duties. Processes store requisitions and credit memorandums; checks tally-ins against purchase orders; prepares necessary data processing forms for new stock items; records documents in registers, listing such data as purchase order number, date received, and date issued; prepares necessary reports. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of storage areas; sweeps, mops, dusts, sprays, defrost, etc. as needed. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a healthcare or inventory management role. Customer service experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
