Job Summary

The Manager, Belonging supports a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and welcoming culture resulting in enhanced associate engagement evidenced by increased operational performance. This role is critical to fostering an environment where every associate feels empowered to contribute their best.

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Support Belonging strategy and initiatives.
  • Lead three of six advisory councils (African American, Asian American & Pacific Islander, Latinx, LGBTQ+, Women, and We Are AMC Allyship Program) to identify and execute initiatives that foster a culture of belonging and support a diverse talent pipeline prepared for the future of work.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of impactful learning events.
  • Complete and create executive summaries for annual regulatory reports including EEO1, VETS-4212, and Affirmative Action.
  • Market belonging business impacts to executive sponsors, internal stakeholders, company shareholders, and potential applicants.
  • Create and distribute inclusive internal communications to raise awareness of belonging initiatives and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Serve as a resource for associates, providing advice and support on belonging-related issues and best practices.
What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) related roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact across different cultures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly convey complex ideas tailored to various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives and programs simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • High emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive conversations and build trust across diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in data analysis for evaluating belonging initiatives, identifying trends, and recommending actions.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with DEIB news, trends and best practices.
  • Strong networking and partnership-building skills.
  • Experience in public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Experience creating multi-channel communications to promote programs and engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience guiding organizational change processes.
  • Project management experience that demonstrates effective planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time and within budget, while aligning with organizational goals.
