Job Summary:



The Schwartz/Yang Lab in the Division of Pulmonary Science and Critical Care Medicine studies the genetics of Pulmonary Fibrosis. We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Human Subjects Research Team. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to assist with the coordination of a new cohort study for Familial Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Clinical Research Coordinators perform clinical research related functions which may include patient-oriented research or research conducted with human subjects. Patient-oriented research includes mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical trials, or development of new technologies. Clinical Research Coordinators may also assist with epidemiologic and behavioral studies and/or outcomes research and health services research.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the recruitment and enrollment of study participants with disease of interest.
  • Communicate with potential participants and administer informed consent.
  • Send sample collection kits, request records and test results, and follow up with study participants to ensure timely completion of all study visits.
  • Coordinate study-related procedures for study participants in community health facilities.
  • Manage and pay invoices for study-related tests.
  • Collect and enter data in study and university databases, file paper data.
  • Assist with IRB submissions for ethical review.



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.




Intermediate Level:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.


  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience.


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
  • Clinical research or related experience
  • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems)
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience coordinating and managing administrative and clinical research activities.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality, per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize independent judgment.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft, and COGNOS.
  • Knowledge and experience with IRB policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, especially with other areas/departments/sponsors.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Entry Level: $47,743 - $60,729

Intermediate Level: $51,956 - $66,088

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
