Inst for Data Sci & Informatic Job Description
Provide general oversight of key MUIDSI/DSA research and computing systems. This includes the installation, configuration, and maintenance of MUIDSI/DSA's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, operating systems, physical and virtual servers, and Kubernetes infrastructure. Responsibilities include system administration, maintenance/security, hardware sourcing, and capacity monitoring/planning. Oversee Jupyter learning infrastructure and container cluster for scalable course delivery and maintain discussion boards on MS Teams, version control via GitLab, and other tools and services. Coordinate with MU DoIT-RCSS to oversee virtual machine (OVirt) infrastructure, as well as virtual servers within the DSA VLAN domain. Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups and documentation. Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. Perform database administration and support tasks for PostgreSQL and other DBMS platforms for academic and research purposes. The overall goal of this position is managing MUIDSI's advanced learning technology infrastructure within its rapidly growing DSA program and the larger MU Informatics Institute. Shift

Linux System Administration, Bachelor's Degree (or commensurate professional experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field Preferred Qualifications
