The principal responsibilities for the Sr. Lead Accountant-Financial Instruments & Hedge Accounting will include accounting, close process, policy development and maintenance, and financial reporting for financial instruments and hedge accounting applications, including commodities, foreign currency, and debt.

A Day In The Life:

  • Lead the completion and perform reviews of month, quarter, and annual accounting entries specific to our scope, including reviewing or completing related reconciliations.
  • Lead the completion and review of quarter and annual financial reporting packages for key areas assigned.
  • Perform SOX controls and maintain evidence of control for areas of responsibility.
  • Provide financial analysis on accounts as required.
  • Initiate gather support and draft hedge accounting documentation.
  • Provide significant input into communications to senior management.
  • Assist in development of hedge accounting programs.
  • Lead the completion and perform review of balance sheet analysis for areas within scope.
  • Assist and provide draft conclusions as accounting research matters arise for both US GAAP and IFRS within scope.
  • Lead in the preparation and supporting audits of various statutory financial statements, where applicable.
  • Seek continued development of knowledge of financial instruments and hedge accounting applications.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various departments throughout the organization including serving on key projects when necessary.

You Bring This Value:

Education



  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Accounting, or similar, required.


Work Experience



  • Typically 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and working skill in Word required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize, adjusting focus as needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours during various times of the month/year.
  • Big Four or hedge accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP and OneStream is preferred.


Licenses & Certifications



  • CPA is a plus.
